What’s the Best Age to Start Invisalign Teen®

Parents often ask me: What’s the best age to get my child started with Invisalign Teen? The answer is once he or she has lost all their baby teeth and their permanent teeth have arrived. By the age of 13, your child will have most of his permanent teeth; with the exception of his wisdom teeth, which typically erupt between the ages of 17 and 21.

The only other consideration is that the teen is mature enough to remember to wear their aligners for 22 hours of the day, only removing them to brush, floss, eat, and, of course, clean the aligners.

That said, I’ve found that given the motivation kids have to avoid metal braces and the convenient tools Invisalign provides teen patients,  nearly all are well up to the task.

The makers of Invisalign make it easy for parents and their offspring.

Features parents love:

Extra aligners

The teen program allows for extra aligners, in the event that aligners are lost on the soccer field, at a sleepover, or summer camp.

Teen Invisalign aligners are flexible. They evolve as new molars begin erupting, guiding the new teeth into proper position.

Advanced technology

The aligners are made with advanced features that guide teeth roots into place, resulting in longer-lasting changes.

Built-in compliance feature

Invisalign Teen has parents and forgetful kids covered. Parent’s needn’t nag. Invisalign Teen comes with special tools to help ensure young patients comply with treatment.

Features teens love:

The look, or lack of it

It’s actually hard to see Invisalign when you’re wearing them. Who doesn’t prefer that to a mouthful of metal, wires, and rubber bands?

Although teens need to wear their aligner for at least 22 hours a day to achieve full benefits of the program, they are 100% removable. Therefore, eating your favorite foods brushing, and flossing are easy.

Complete comfort

Made from an ultra-thin smooth material that’s precision-trimmed to fit closely and comfortably, aligners won’t poke or scrape your teen’s gums or harm their tooth enamel.

a beautiful smile —  affordably, efficiently, comfortably, and with built-in assurance.
